Duties
- Scan, index, and file non-electronic medical and administrative information and forms.
- Maintain daily logs of documents scanned, filed, and indexed.
- Respond to customer requests for information in a positive and efficient manner.
- Perform qualitative reviews of work completed by self and others on scanned documents.
This position may require physical activity such as prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing carts, and climbing stairs or step stools.
This is a federal position with potential promotion to GS-6.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- GS-5: 4 years of education above high school related to the position, or 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-4.
- GS-6: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-5.
- Experience should include medical records review, scanning, indexing, filing, quality control, release of information, tracking logs, retrieval and archiving of records, and communication with healthcare staff.
Conditions of employment
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- May be subject to a probationary period.
- Must successfully pass a federal background investigation and financial suitability review.
- Must comply with applicable immunization requirements for IHS healthcare facilities.
- Work schedule may include 24/7 coverage, holidays, and weekends.
- Direct deposit required.
