Dental Billing Specialist/Manager

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Dental Billing Specialist/FD to join a dynamic dental practice team. In this role, you will manage the full cycle of dental billing and coding processes, ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement from insurance companies and patients. Your expertise in medical coding, insurance claims, and medical records management will contribute to the efficiency and financial health of the practice.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Review and accurately code dental procedures using CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG codes.
  • Prepare and submit insurance claims via EMR and EHR systems, following regulatory guidelines.
  • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility prior to procedures.
  • Maintain organized medical records, including documentation of procedures, diagnoses, and billing correspondence.
  • Collaborate with dental staff to ensure accurate documentation of treatments and procedures.
  • Stay current on changes in coding standards, insurance policies, and billing regulations to maintain compliance.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in medical billing within a dental or healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with dental-specific coding such as CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10.
  • Strong knowledge of DRG coding systems and their application in dental billing.
  • Proficiency with EMR and EHR systems used for medical records management and billing.
  • Experience with medical terminology, dental procedures, and insurance claim processing.
  • Prior work involving ICD coding, medical collections, and complex billing scenarios is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple claims accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with insurance companies, patients, and team members.
