The CBO Insurance Senior Specialist is responsible for resolving complex accounts efficiently and accurately, serving as a subject matter resource for their functional area, coaching team members on account resolution workflows, and assisting the supervisor with team management.
This role confirms the accuracy and completeness of patient financial, insurance, and demographic information to ensure compliant claims are sent to payers. The Senior Specialist works independently to resolve complex diagnostic accounts, helps drive performance improvement, and provides quality validations and continuous education to a multi-disciplinary team. The goal of the role is to manage the cost of care while providing timely and accurate information to payers.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in revenue cycle/CBO required
- Extensive revenue cycle process improvement experience required
- Prior experience in a healthcare revenue cycle position required
Preferred qualifications
- Billing/coding certificate preferred
- College coursework in accounting, business, or healthcare administration preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite products preferred
