Become a key player as an Interim HIM Director.
You will lead and manage Health Information Management operations to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant medical records and coding. You will partner with the Director of Revenue Cycle, the CFO, clinical teams, and committee members to improve HIM performance, reduce incomplete charts, and support revenue cycle objectives. This role is responsible for supervising clerical, coding, and transcription staff and driving process and quality improvements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification
- Four years of supervisory or management experience
- Four years of progressive HIM management experience, including budget development, staff responsibilities, goal setting, quality improvement, and project management
- Demonstrated knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS coding/billing procedures
- Familiarity with UB-04, HCFA-1500, and ADA billing forms
- Proficiency with multiple data systems and Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational leadership, team building, and customer service skills
- Ability to plan and lead meetings/training, work under pressure, make quality decisions, and motivate teams
- Successful background, reference, and clearance checks as required
- Master’s degree in Health Information Management, Business Administration, or a related business field is a plus
- Ability to speak Navajo, Hopi, or San Juan Southern Paiute is a plus
