Responsible for managing collections of outstanding accounts receivable from the existing client base, resolving billing issues, and reducing accounts receivable delinquency. Reports to the Finance Manager.
Key responsibilities include reviewing open accounts for collection efforts, making outbound collection calls in a professional manner, resolving client billing problems, collecting customer payments by due dates, monitoring assigned accounts and collection reports, following up on payment arrangements, and corresponding with customers regarding delinquent accounts.
Experience and skills
- Minimum of 5 years of medical billing and collections experience, including interaction with physicians
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-changing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Access
- Experience in a medical practice environment preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-disciplined with the ability to identify and complete critical tasks independently and with urgency
