Responsible for managing, leading, and supporting the operations of assigned practice location(s). In conjunction with the Practice Administrator and/or Assistant Administrator, this role helps improve operational efficiency, patient satisfaction, and performance targets while supporting the mission of the practice and EyeSouth Partners.
The Clinical Operations Manager also supports clinical workflow, technician training, scheduling, patient relations, inventory oversight, and documentation quality. This position does not participate in direct patient care, but requires advanced understanding of ophthalmic clinical skills and the ability to support exam components, diagnostic testing, and scribing when needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a leader in an ophthalmic environment preferred
- Current iJCAHPO COA certification required; COT or higher preferred
- Knowledge of ophthalmic skills, concepts, and basic ophthalmic diseases
- Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Ability to work independently with little oversight
Key responsibilities
- Oversee direct reports including hiring, training, development, performance management, and termination support
- Support patient flow, diagnostic testing, technician exam components, and clinical administrative duties
- Maintain inventory levels and order medical and office supplies
- Lead daily huddles and monthly team meetings
- Create staff schedules and coordinate schedule changes
- Collaborate with physicians on schedule templates
- Respond to patient relations inquiries and complaint resolutions
- Develop and train staff on clinical SOPs and new policies
- Support compliance reporting and documentation audits
