Clinical Nurse Manager

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Nurse Manager to oversee the day-to-day clinical operations of a private pediatric office.

This role combines clinical expertise with administrative leadership to ensure seamless patient flow, staff efficiency, and a high standard of family-centered care in a close-knit environment. The position involves overseeing patient care delivery, managing clinical support staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a culture of excellence and compassion.

The Clinical Nurse Manager will report to the Practice Administrator for daily operational, administrative, and human resource needs, and to the Physician Partners for clinical oversight, patient safety, and medical protocols. The role also collaborates with physician partners on clinical policies, performance metrics, patient care standards, and clinical quality.

Duties

  • Manage daily clinical office operations, including clinical staff scheduling, medical supply inventory, and vaccine management.
  • Provide direct hands-on nursing care, including triage, immunizations, and assistance with minor procedures, while supervising the clinical team.
  • Lead, train, and mentor a small team of Triage Nurses and Medical Assistants.
  • Supervise clinical support teams across two locations and ensure high standards of patient care and safety.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for parent concerns and coordinate complex care for patients with chronic conditions or special needs.
  • Collaborate with leadership to optimize patient workflows, manage budgets, and implement new clinical technologies.
Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
  • Active RN license.
  • 3+ years of pediatric nursing experience.
  • Prior leadership experience, such as a Charge Nurse role, strongly preferred.
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications.
  • Proven management experience in a clinical setting.
  • Strong familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and Athenahealth or similar platforms.
  • Experience working with medical records and medical coding (ICD-9/10).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Willingness to travel between New Haven, CT and Cheshire, CT.
