Oversee the complete lifecycle of resident medical records in a long-term care facility, ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and efficient retrieval of information.
Responsibilities include managing electronic and paper record systems, overseeing the Point Click Care EMR, maintaining data integrity and security, coordinating release of information, compiling statistical reports, supervising coding-related record processes, and supporting audits and regulatory compliance. The role also involves collaborating with nursing and administrative staff to resolve incomplete records and improve medical record workflows.
Must have at least 2 years of experience in medical records within a skilled nursing facility.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records; Point Click Care (PCC) experience preferred
- Knowledge of CMS guidelines and Medicare coverage criteria
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organization and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency with healthcare and office software platforms
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, crisis-prone environment
- Advocacy skills with a resident-centered care focus
- Prior experience in resident advocacy, medical records, medical billing, and collections
