Responsible for maintaining and organizing patient medical records and health information systems in a correctional healthcare setting. This role supports healthcare teams by ensuring accurate, secure, and timely access to clinical documentation and related records.
Key duties include:
- Maintaining, organizing, and updating patient medical records, logs, and health information systems
- Protecting the confidentiality, security, and proper release of medical information in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies
- Retrieving, filing, and managing clinical documentation such as laboratory reports, consultation reports, and other healthcare records
- Supporting appointment tracking, report preparation, record management, and administrative tasks
- Assisting with compliance initiatives, statistical reporting, record retention, and continuous improvement of medical records processes
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous medical records, healthcare administration, or clerical experience preferred
- Current CPR certification required
