Helena Valley Health Services is a multidisciplinary team serving clients with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and physical health issues. The organization is a licensed level 2.1 substance use disorder facility and a licensed mental health center, offering medically assisted treatment, pain management, and outpatient mental health and substance use disorder treatment.
This role is for a full-time or part-time medical provider to see clients in person and report directly to the medical and clinical director. The ideal candidate will provide patient-centered care across a variety of clinical settings, including primary care, behavioral health, and specialized medical services.
Responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments, diagnosing conditions, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams, and supporting telehealth and quality improvement initiatives. The position also involves patient education, documentation in EHR systems, and participation in discharge planning and case management.
Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in the state and eligibility for DEA registration.
Experience in mental health and substance use treatment settings is preferred.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, diagnostic evaluation, sonography, and laboratory testing.
Ability to manage complex cases involving acute pain, chronic conditions, infectious diseases, mental health, substance use disorders, and medication-assisted treatment.
Proficiency in CPT and ICD coding for accurate billing; workers' compensation knowledge is beneficial.
Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, Cerner, or Meditech.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to perform physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations confidently; inpatient or outpatient experience is essential.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and sterile processing techniques for invasive procedures such as venipuncture or tube feeding management.
