Responsible for evaluating potential plasma donors for plasmapheresis and providing limited emergency care in accordance with licensure or certification, training, and standard operating procedures.
Performs donor medical screenings, reviews test results, determines donor suitability, handles medical incidents, and supports safe plasma collection operations.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
- Graduation from a nursing, EMT, and/or Paramedic training program accredited by the state in which the donor center operates
- Plasma center experience is a plus
Experience
- Strong donor assessment skills
- Ability to manage emergency situations calmly and in accordance with standard medical care practices
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Current CPR certificate
- Current state licensure required
- Valid LVN, RN, EMT, and/or Paramedic license required
- Valid driver's license preferred
Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient computer literacy, including Word and basic spreadsheet use
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Basic math skills related to donor eligibility and draw information
- Ability to read and follow written procedures and instructions
- Ability to work flexible shifts
- Detail-oriented with strong error analysis and correction skills
- Ability to teach others and work effectively on a team
- Bilingual skills may be required depending on business needs
