IX. Prosthodontics, Fixed

Each retainer and each pontic constitutes a unit in a fixed partial denture. Local anesthesia is usually considered to be part of Fixed Prosthodontic procedures. The term “fixed partial denture” or FPD is synonymous with fixed bridge or bridgework. Fixed partial denture prosthetic procedures include routine temporary prosthetics. When indicated, interim or provisional codes should be reported separately.
