This strategic placement allows for accurate atrial electrocardiogram (ECG) recordings, which are essential for assessing the heart's rhythm and function. In some cases, ventricular ECG recordings may also be captured during this procedure. Following the initial recordings, the physician may initiate pacing, a technique used to stimulate the heart and evaluate its response.
