Advanced Recovery Systems is an integrated behavioral healthcare management company dedicated to the treatment of addiction, substance abuse, and mental health issues. The AR Collections Specialist - Mental Health & SUD Focused will be required to audit, compile, and create claims for submission, respond timely to front and backend rejections, and work each claim billed until payment is received or deemed uncollectable.
Core duties include working remotely following a set schedule, auditing client records for proper program, authorization, diagnosis, and revenue elements, communicating billing-related issues with departments and hospital staff, addressing rejected claims, ensuring compliance with billing rules, updating EMR and patient accounts, following up third-party billing, resolving claim issues including appeals, documenting actions, identifying denial trends, attending meetings, applying continuous improvement processes, maintaining confidentiality according to HIPAA, and adhering to all policies and regulations.
Requirements include a High School diploma or GED (Associates degree preferred), minimum 3 years of experience in medical business matters within hospital, physician practice, behavioral health, or medical billing company, and preferred certifications (CPC, CPAT, CPAM) although not required. Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen experience is a plus.
The position requires use of personal computer meeting software and security standards, stable internet connection, and professional presentation during virtual meetings.
