OSIS is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist (Tech I) with a strong focus on charge processing to support our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team. In this role, you'll help ensure accurate and timely revenue collection for Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and Community Health Centers (CHCs) across multiple states—all while providing exceptional service to our member organizations.
This fully remote position is ideal for someone who is skilled in medical billing, enjoys working with data and payer information, and thrives in a goal-oriented environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Focus heavily on charge processing and execute a variety of medical billing and revenue cycle workflows.
- Process daily, weekly, and monthly billing tasks to ensure optimal and accurate revenue collection.
- Work with charges, transactions, accounts receivable management, patient and payer calls, and online payer portals.
- Review and research federal, state, and payer billing requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support member organizations and deliver high-quality service.
- Participate in training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding, billing rules, and healthcare regulations.
- Use NextGen PM to support accurate billing and documentation processes.
- Contribute to workflow analysis and best-practice recommendations.
- Meet performance goals in accuracy, productivity, and turnaround times.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of medical billing experience.
- Experience with clearinghouses and payer/healthcare portals.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with FQHC billing, dental or behavioral health billing.
- Familiarity with NextGen EPM, EDR, or Optical.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Fully remote position with telecommuting privileges.
- Standard work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET.
- Minimal travel requirement (5–10 days per year).
Technical Requirements:
- Cable or fiber internet connection.
- Minimum 20 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speeds.
