The Medical Billing & Coding Analyst will support forensic healthcare and litigation consulting, applying expertise in medical billing and coding to insurance, regulatory, and legal matters by reviewing medical bills and records for accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities include analyzing billing records and coding data, applying CPT®, ICD-10-CM/PCS, HCPCS coding systems, evaluating charges against UCR standards, supporting senior experts in litigation and arbitration, assisting in data organization and audits, preparing well-structured summaries of findings, maintaining documentation and quality standards, staying current with billing and reimbursement regulations, and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements include a minimum of 3 years medical billing and coding experience, knowledge of revenue cycle processes, claims analysis or compliance, proficiency with EHR systems, attention to detail, and active certification such as CPC, CCS, CMRS, or BCSC. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a related field, experience with litigation support or forensic review, additional credentials like CPMA or RHIA, and strong communication skills.
Hybrid or remote work arrangements may be available, occasional travel required.
