As a onsite Medical Billing Specialist at On With Life, you can be a part of something greater. This position is responsible for generating and submitting claims for various programs in a timely manner and managing accounts receivable. The goal is to generate clean claims for payments to allow persons served, families, and clinicians more time to focus on treatment and recovery.

Hours are primarily between 8am and 4:30pm, Monday-Friday, approximately 40 hours per week. No holidays or weekends are required, but some earlier or later hours may periodically be needed.

What does our Medical Billing Specialist do?

Duties include assisting in billing and accounts receivable functions, posting payments, assisting with admission diagnosis coding and insurance setup, following up on claim denials in accordance with payer guidelines, submitting claims through the clearinghouse, completing month-end close processes, overseeing self-pay receivable accounts and monthly statements, turning accounts over to collections per organizational process, maintaining and updating the Electronic Health Record system to support billing and accounts receivable, and staying current on compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.

What You'll Bring:

ICD-10 diagnosis coding certification is required
Minimum two years medical billing experience or medical billing certificate required
High school graduate or GED equivalent
Extensive knowledge of commercial, Medicare, and MCO payers’ rules and regulations as it pertains to claims submission
Comfortable working with computers and electronic health records
