We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to support the full revenue cycle process within a growing healthcare organization. This role focuses heavily on Medicaid and third-party billing, ensuring claims are processed accurately, payments are collected timely, and all work remains compliant with healthcare regulations.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a high-volume environment, problem-solving billing issues, and collaborating with internal teams and insurance carriers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full revenue cycle including billing, payment posting, and reconciliations
- Submit and track Medicaid and third-party insurance claims
- Investigate and resolve denied or rejected claims
- Review documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance prior to submission
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding balances
- Reconcile billing activity to the general ledger
- Track billing trends, denial rates, and other key performance metrics
- Ensure services align with authorizations and payer requirements
- Assist with audits, reporting, and revenue forecasting support
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5+ years of medical billing experience, Medicaid experience strongly preferred
- Experience with third-party insurance billing
- Strong Excel skills and ability to manage data
- Excellent communication skills working with payers and internal teams
- High attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume workloads
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
- Background in nonprofit or Medicaid-funded environments
- Familiarity with EHR systems and healthcare compliance standards
