Aegis is a YC-backed AI startup building agents that handle insurance denial appeals end-to-end, helping hospitals and medical groups recover more revenue from denied claims with less manual work.
In this role, you will review complex inpatient denial cases, evaluate appeal letters drafted by AI, and identify missing elements, weak arguments, necessary documentation, payer flags, and reasons for likely appeal outcomes.
Your feedback will improve the AI agents' accuracy in handling denial appeals.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Prior experience appealing inpatient denials from the provider side or adjudicating inpatient appeals from the payer side
- Strong understanding of inpatient denial logic, including medical necessity, payer requirements, prior authorization, DRG/coding, and level-of-care denials
- Familiarity with medical necessity guidelines such as MCG and InterQual
- Ability to identify strong, weak, incomplete appeals or those likely to be denied again
