Medical Billing Specialist

The Medical Billing specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of the billing cycle, including accounts receivable, payment posting, denials, and appeals. The role requires keen attention to detail, knowledge of medical billing best practices, and the ability to collaborate across departments to resolve claim issues and enhance reimbursement outcomes.

Key responsibilities include tracking claims for accuracy and timely payment, analyzing accounts receivable reports and following up on unpaid claims and denials, reconciling patient accounts and communicating with payers regarding disputes or appeals, monitoring and reporting key performance indicators for billing operations, and maintaining compliance with insurance guidelines and HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications required are certification in Medical Billing, preferably 2+ years of experience in medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle, a strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and medical billing workflows, proficiency in EMR and clearinghouse platforms, exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a team environment with minimal supervision.
