We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Biller to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role includes managing the entire billing process from patient registration through follow-up and collections with a focus on collections, Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage medical billing process: patient registration, insurance verification, charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, follow-up, and collections
- Ensure accurate and timely billing of medical services
- Review and appeal unpaid and denied claims
- Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA
- Analyze insurance explanations of benefits (EOBs), remittance advices, and denial notifications
- Provide consulting on best practices for billing, coding, and collections
- Stay current with insurance regulations including Medicaid and Medicare
- Train and mentor junior staff
- Conduct audits for billing accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to resolve billing issues
- Develop strategies to improve billing process and revenue
Qualified candidates should have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in medical billing, specializing in collections, Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance guidelines
- CPC or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and multitasking skills
- Thorough knowledge of healthcare billing regulations, compliance, and reimbursement
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations
