We are currently seeking a highly motivated Medical Biller to join our team and report to the Director - Revenue Cycle. The role supports accurate and timely billing processes to help scale healthcare operations.

Responsibilities include:
- Oversee and direct billing staff to ensure accurate and timely billing
- Maintain knowledge of billing and payor systems, including federal and state regulations and reimbursement policies
- Update billing progress trackers and manage project deadlines
- Prepare and submit insurance claims using billing software
- Verify patient insurance information, eligibility, and benefits
- Process payments, generate invoices, and manage payment plans
- Follow up on denied or unpaid claims, resolve discrepancies, and handle appeals
- Maintain accurate patient and billing records ensuring compliance
- Assist in project coordination and documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 3 years medical billing experience
- Experience with Quality/Risk Adjustment initiatives (HCC, RAF, gap closure) preferred
- Familiarity with Quality measures (HEDIS/Stars)
- Medical billing or coding certificates a plus
- Strong knowledge of commercial/regulatory claims billing and reimbursement regulations
- Experience with third-party reimbursement, account resolution, and cash applications
- Extensive knowledge of EDI billing systems and third-party payor processes
- Ability to proactively identify and resolve issues impacting business outcomes
- Excellent critical thinking, organization, communication, and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data analytics (Power Query, Pivot Tables)
Work Environment:
- Hybrid schedule with in-office work Tuesday to Thursday at 1668 S. Garfield Ave. 2nd Floor, Alhambra, CA 91801
- Remote work allowed on other days, subject to business needs
The compensation target pay rate is $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, representing a national target range.
