Our healthcare organization is seeking a Consulting Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. This role is designed for a meticulous and dedicated individual with deep knowledge of medical billing and coding processes.

Responsibilities include managing and streamlining medical billing processes for accuracy and efficiency; reviewing patient bills for completeness; following up on unpaid claims; ensuring insurance payments are correct; coordinating with insurance companies to resolve discrepancies; assisting with Medicare and Medicaid claims, appeals, and audits; advising and training staff on billing procedures; identifying and rectifying billing errors; staying current on billing regulations and industry trends; and providing solutions to complex billing issues with recommended process improvements.

The successful candidate must have at least 5 years medical billing experience, preferably consulting, extensive knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance billing procedures, proficiency in medical terminology and coding language, experience with EMR and billing software, strong analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, knowledge of relevant federal and state laws, with certifications from AMBA or CPB preferred, and a Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred.
