Join our team as a Medical Billing Specialist and play an important role in our Revenue Cycle department. In this position, you will serve as a primary point of contact for patient billing inquiries, assisting patients and clinic staff with questions related to statements, insurance processing, balances, and payments. You will handle inbound calls, respond to emails, review patient accounts, and help resolve billing questions.
Manage a high volume of patient interactions in a fast-paced environment with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of medical billing processes.
This role offers exposure to multiple revenue cycle functions and opportunities for growth within the Revenue Cycle Management team.
Schedule:
- Monday-Thursday: 8 am - 5 pm
- Friday: 8 am - 12 pm (Half day)
Work is fully onsite at the HQ office located at 5929 Balcones Dr #200, Austin, TX 78731.
Patient Billing Support includes answering multi-line phones, responding to emails, explaining patient statements and insurance processing, and communicating professionally and empathetically regarding sensitive financial matters.
Account Investigation and Accounts Receivable tasks involve reviewing patient accounts, investigating claim status, payments, adjustments, denials, utilizing payer portals and practice management systems, and escalating unresolved issues.
Payment Processing duties include processing credit card and check payments, assisting patients with payment arrangements and plans, and providing itemized receipts.
Issue Resolution involves resolving patient billing complaints, coordinating with AR, coding, posting and authorization teams, and preparing write-off or refund requests.
Documentation responsibilities include documenting all patient interactions and maintaining accurate records.
Internal support encompasses responding to billing inquiries from clinic staff and assisting front desk teams.
Additional support tasks include assisting with insurance records requests and coordinating with collections agencies.

Education:
- High School Diploma or higher
- Healthcare, hospital, or clinical patient service experience required
Preferred:
- 1+ years healthcare billing or revenue cycle experience
- 1+ years customer service experience
- Familiarity with medical billing workflows and AR processes
- Experience with EHR or practice management systems (NextGen, Athena, Epic, or similar)
- Understanding of patient statements, insurance adjudication, and financial responsibility
- Healthcare, hospital, or clinical patient service experience
- High School Diploma or higher
- Preferred: 1+ years healthcare billing, patient billing, or revenue cycle experience
- Preferred: 1+ years customer service experience dealing with patients
- Familiarity with medical billing workflows and accounts receivable processes
