As a Medical Records/Health Information Management Specialist, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion and submission of birth records including birth certificates and paternity acknowledgments. Duties include collecting and verifying birth certificate documentation, interacting with parents to complete forms, answering questions regarding certificates and state regulations, managing the acknowledgment of paternity process with sensitivity, entering information into software systems, reviewing completed certificates for accuracy, collaborating with providers and nursing staff, and handling chart requests for scanning.
Experience and qualifications desired include knowledge of CMS and Joint Commission regulations, EMR experience, healthcare revenue cycle experience especially in acute care HIM, openness to innovation including AI, and willingness to become a notary public. CRCR certification is required within 9 months of hire and is company paid.
