- 40 hour work week required, Monday through Friday in-office
- Responsible for the daily review of claims for a Family Practice that consists of 1 Physician and 3 Physician Assistants
- Responsible for billing of ancillary services such as Ultrasounds, NeuralScan testing, Holter monitor, Eye Camera etc.
- Working accounts receivable via Practice Hold bucket including submitting medical records for appeals and correcting coding errors for resubmission
- Reviewing day to day claims for errors after automated claim creation
- Submitting claims daily for Physician Assistant and Nurse visits
- CPC certification required
- Athena software knowledge desired
- Ensuring diagnoses are coded to highest specification to help with HCC scores
- Educate Providers on continuing errors seen and how to remedy
- Educate Staff on common error trends seen and how to remedy
- Respond to Patient inquiries and assist with billing questions from providers and staff
- Staying up-to-date with CMS guidelines for testing done in-office
Requirements & Qualifications
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required
- Knowledge of Athena software desired
- Experience with billing for family practice and ancillary services
- Understanding of HCC coding and CMS guidelines
- Ability to educate providers and staff on coding errors and remedies
