Responsibilities:
- Verify patient eligibility and insurance benefits for procedures and treatments
- Review patient bills for accuracy, completeness, and missing information
- Prepare, review, and submit claims (electronic and paper) using billing software
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timelines
- Ensure insurance payments are accurate and compliant with contract terms
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve payment discrepancies
- Coordinate billing for secondary and tertiary insurance carriers
- Review accounts for follow-up and patient responsibility
- Research, prepare, and submit appeals for denied claims
- Respond to patient and insurance inquiries regarding billing accounts
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in medical billing (neurosurgery or specialty practice preferred)
- Strong understanding of insurance processes, claim submission, and denial management
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
