Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

Women’s Choice is a dedicated healthcare provider committed to delivering excellent patient care. We are currently seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist with expertise in Medical Billing & Coding to join our team. This individual will support clinical staff and ensure smooth office operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Greeting patients and visitors warmly and professionally
  • Answering phone calls, directing to appropriate departments, and providing information
  • Scheduling and confirming patient appointments
  • Assisting patients with paperwork
  • Processing patient information and medical data for billing
  • Assigning ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services
  • Submitting and tracking insurance claims
  • Verifying patient insurance coverage prior to appointments
  • Communicating with insurance companies regarding eligibility, benefits, and pre-authorization
  • Following up on unpaid or denied insurance claims
  • Collecting patient payments including co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
  • Managing payment plans or financial assistance per company policy
  • Maintaining patient records in compliance with HIPAA
  • Providing general office support

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Medical Billing and Coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS) preferred
  • 1-2 years experience in a medical office with focus on billing, coding, and insurance verification
  • Proficient in EHR and practice management software
  • Strong communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, medical terminology knowledge, and customer service skills
