We are currently seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist with expertise in Medical Billing & Coding to join our team. This individual will support clinical staff and ensure smooth office operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting patients and visitors warmly and professionally
- Answering phone calls, directing to appropriate departments, and providing information
- Scheduling and confirming patient appointments
- Assisting patients with paperwork
- Processing patient information and medical data for billing
- Assigning ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services
- Submitting and tracking insurance claims
- Verifying patient insurance coverage prior to appointments
- Communicating with insurance companies regarding eligibility, benefits, and pre-authorization
- Following up on unpaid or denied insurance claims
- Collecting patient payments including co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
- Managing payment plans or financial assistance per company policy
- Maintaining patient records in compliance with HIPAA
- Providing general office support
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Medical Billing and Coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS) preferred
- 1-2 years experience in a medical office with focus on billing, coding, and insurance verification
- Proficient in EHR and practice management software
- Strong communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, medical terminology knowledge, and customer service skills
