We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Receptionist / Medical Billing & Coding Specialist to join our healthcare team. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a warm, professional, and efficient front desk experience, while handling medical billing and coding responsibilities including processing insurance claims, managing medical records, and ensuring timely reimbursement.
Responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying appointment details, answering calls, scheduling appointments, collecting and updating patient information in electronic health record systems, reviewing and coding medical procedures using CPT, ICD-9/ICD-10, and DRG coding standards, preparing and submitting insurance claims, following up on unpaid or denied claims, managing billing processes such as invoicing and payment posting, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, collaborating with healthcare providers for accurate documentation, organizing medical records, and staying updated on coding and insurance policy changes.
Experience needed includes assigning ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes, submitting and tracking insurance claims, managing prior authorizations, following up on denied or unpaid claims and appeals, posting payments, reconciling accounts receivable, and ensuring compliance with payer guidelines and documentation standards.
This role is in person in Marlton, NJ.
- Experience with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Ability to submit and track insurance claims electronically and manually
- Experience with prior authorizations and appeals management
- Knowledge of medical billing processes including payment posting and collection
