St. Francis Medical is seeking a full-time Medical Biller. This role requires correctly coding healthcare claims to obtain reimbursement from insurance companies and government healthcare programs.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Reading and analyzing patient records
- Determining correct codes for patient records
- Using codes to bill insurance providers
- Interacting with physicians and nurse practitioners to ensure accuracy
- Managing detailed, specifically-coded information
- Assisting with charge entry
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and information security
Education and certification:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Current Certified Professional Coder preferred but not required (AHIMA or AAPC)
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Understanding of CPT and ICD-10 guidelines
- Familiarity with federal and governmental payer guidelines
- Familiarity with workers compensation payer guidelines
- Knowledge of insurance and use of modifiers
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong concentration and focus
- Analytical skills to identify discrepancies
- Ability to work well in a team
Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
Work location: In person
