The Supervisor, Charge & Billing Edit Reconciliation (SCBER) will provide general oversight of charge entry and billing edits reconciliation within the Department of Medicine Billing Office to ensure submission of clean claims. Responsibilities include supervising charge entry functions and team members, maintaining appropriate staffing, reviewing and resolving front-end billing edits, completing charge corrections, developing cross-training among team members, and identifying process improvements to optimize front-end charge entry functions aligned with department KPIs.
The SCBER will collaborate with Billing Operations Team members from Coding, Revenue Operations, and Business Integrity to implement front-end charge capture initiatives that support departmental goals. The position requires granular understanding of front-end charge capture processes and effective communication with Faculty Practice, Practice Operations, Quality Assurance, leadership, and internal and external customers.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- College experience in business or healthcare preferred
- 2-5 years charge entry, billing edit, medical practice billing, or healthcare revenue cycle experience
- 1-2 years supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred; if not, strong knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding with ability to pass proficiency test
