Billing Manager

Foot and Ankle Associates

Foot and Ankle Associates is a growing multi-location podiatry practice dedicated to exceptional foot and ankle care. The Billing Manager leads insurance and billing operations across locations, ensuring accurate, timely revenue cycle management.

The role includes supervising insurance and billing staff, overseeing full revenue cycle management from eligibility to patient collections, focusing on podiatry-specific billing nuances. The manager collaborates with providers and administrative teams to maximize collections, minimize denials, and maintain regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include team leadership, workflow management, hiring and training staff, managing charge entry, claim submissions, denial management, appeals, accounts receivable follow-up, patient collections, and financial adjustments. Expertise in podiatry CPT coding, Medicare LCDs, durable medical equipment billing, and modifier usage is essential. The manager monitors payer policy updates, ensures HIPAA and regulatory compliance, and produces financial and denial trend reports for practice leadership.

Qualifications require an associate degree (bachelor's preferred), strong billing certifications (CPC or CPB), at least 5 years medical billing experience with 2 years managerial, with a focus on podiatry or related specialties, knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, Medicare and commercial policies, and strong leadership and analytical skills. Experience with podiatry-focused EMR systems and managing distributed teams is valued.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Associate degree required; bachelor's preferred in healthcare administration, business, or related field
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Professional Biller (CPB) strongly preferred
  • Specialty certification in podiatry coding is a plus
  • Minimum 5 years medical billing experience with at least 2 years supervisory or management role
  • Podiatry billing experience preferred; orthopedic, wound care, or DME billing also valued
  • Deep knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and modifier usage
  • Understanding of Medicare and commercial payer policies, including LCDs for foot and ankle care
  • Proficiency with practice management and EMR systems; podiatry-focused systems a plus
  • Experience managing multi-location teams preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities
