Home Health Billing & Coding Specialist

We are a leading provider of home health services committed to delivering high-quality care to our patients. We are seeking a highly experienced Home Health Billing & Coding Specialist to join our team and ensure precise and timely billing operations for our home health programs.

The Home Health Billing & Coding Specialist will manage the medical billing and coding tasks for home health patients, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and insurance regulations. The ideal candidate has a proven background in home health billing and coding, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities include reviewing and processing billing and coding information for home health services including skilled nursing, therapy, and hospice care; assigning accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes in accordance with current regulations and payer guidelines; submitting claims to insurance providers and following up on denied or pending claims; maintaining accurate patient and billing records with HIPAA compliance; collaborating with clinical teams to verify documentation completeness and accuracy; monitoring billing metrics and producing reports to support revenue cycle management; and staying informed about changes in home health regulations, coding standards, and payer requirements.

Qualifications include a minimum of 2–3 years of experience in medical billing and coding within the home health or hospice setting; proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding, and medical billing software; strong knowledge of insurance processes including Medicare and Medicaid billing; excellent attention to detail and organizational skills; strong communication skills for collaboration with clinical and administrative teams; and Certified Coding Professional (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is preferred.
