Internal Medicine Associates is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Medical Billing and Coding Specialist. Responsibilities include reviewing and interpreting medical records to assign ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG codes, submitting insurance claims using Eclinical Works, following up on unpaid or rejected claims, maintaining medical records compliance, collaborating with healthcare providers for coding accuracy, staying updated on coding guidelines and insurance policies, and assisting in auditing billing processes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or related healthcare administration.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding systems, and DRG classifications.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical record management, and EMR/EHR systems.
- Understanding of insurance claim processes and medical collections.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Effective communication with healthcare providers, insurers, and patients.
- Prior medical office experience preferred; CPC certification a plus but not mandatory.
