Join a premium refractive surgery and aesthetics ophthalmology practice as a Medical Coder and Biller. This role involves accurately translating medical documentation into standardized codes and ensuring timely, precise billing processes. Work with diverse medical records and cutting-edge EMR/EHR systems to support the financial health of healthcare operations. Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and analyzing medical records, including physician notes, lab reports, and diagnostic results to assign appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes.
- Ensuring coding aligns with guidelines, regulations, and payer requirements for accurate reimbursement.
- Preparing and submitting clean insurance claims using EMR/EHR systems.
- Following up on unpaid or rejected claims to optimize revenue recovery.
- Maintaining documentation of coding decisions, billing activities, and correspondence.
- Collaborating with healthcare providers to clarify documentation discrepancies.
- Staying updated on ICD coding standards, CPT updates, and billing regulations.
Experience with ophthalmology and optometry coding/billing is preferred. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and billing processes required. Ability to multitask across coding, billing, and collections in a fast-paced environment is valued.
Hourly pay range: $22.00 - $25.00.

- Proven experience in medical coding and billing within healthcare, including CPT and ICD-10 coding systems.
