The Medical Billing Specialist (CPC) will join the Revenue Cycle Management team to support accurate, compliant, and timely medical billing across Primary Care, Urgent Care, and Behavioral Health services, including Medi-Cal managed care plans and initiatives like Enhanced Care Management (ECM), Community Health Worker (CHW), and Care Services (CS).
Responsibilities include:
- Provide accurate coding and billing across designated services.
- Ensure claims are reviewed, coded, submitted timely, and followed to resolution.
- Research and resolve claim denials.
- Identify trends impacting claims performance for continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate documentation within Athena and related billing systems.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active CPC or CPC-A certification preferred.
- 3 to 5 years medical billing experience.
- Experience with Medi-Cal managed care billing.
- Understanding of revenue cycle workflows and HIPAA compliance.
Preferred:
- Experience coding/billing for Primary Care, Urgent Care, Behavioral Health.
- Experience with Medi-Cal initiatives ECM, CHW, CS.
- Familiarity with Athena and revenue cycle platforms like Candid.
- Strong analytical skills related to denials and payments.
