Advanced Medical GI (AMGI) is a comprehensive gastroenterology practice serving patients in the Northern Virginia and DC suburbs. They specialize in diagnosis, treatment, and management of digestive system diseases and conditions. The practice is led by Dr. Richard Blosser and Nurse Practitioners with advanced gastroenterology training.

Seeking a certified Medical Biller/Coder with at least two years of medical billing experience or no certification with five years experience. The role supports smooth medical office operations by providing medical billing and administrative support. This position is a 1099 contractor role.

Responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing medical records for accurate coding and billing, assigning codes using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems, submitting insurance claims, following up on denials, verifying patient insurance coverage, producing billing reports, daily posting of payments, communicating with healthcare providers for documentation, initiating patient collections, maintaining patient confidentiality, staying updated on coding guidelines, and answering billing-related calls. Other duties as assigned.

Skills required: Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (Allegiance MD), strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding and ambulatory surgical center billing, attention to detail, excellent communication, ability to work independently, knowledge of insurance claim submission and denial resubmissions.

Requirements: Certification in medical billing/coding (CPC, COC, CPB, etc.) or minimum 3+ years experience preferably in ambulatory surgical centers. In-person attendance required at the Reston, VA location. No remote work. Participation in weekly billing meetings and accurate reporting expected.
