Medical Billing Specialist / Coding Specialist

We are seeking a Medical Biller to start as soon as possible. The ideal candidate is proficient in medical insurance, knowledgeable in ICD-10 coding, and experienced with EMR systems for sending and receiving medical bills.

The candidate should be able to prioritize quickly, work independently and as part of a team, and represent the organization professionally with a strong commitment to customer service. Good phone skills and strong work ethic are essential.

The role includes working for a multi-specialty medical practice requiring knowledge in ICD-10 and CPT coding, and experience navigating medical insurance platforms such as Avality, Navinet, Epaces, and others for claims and payments.

Preferred experience in cardiology, allergy, podiatry, endocrinology, and internal medicine. Familiarity with pre-authorization for testing and procedures is important.

The candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, efficient, dependable, with excellent time management, computer skills, and critical thinking.

Responsibilities also include managing accounts receivable, patient collections, reading EOBs, posting payments, and heavy phone communication for claims follow-up.

Workers' compensation and physical therapy billing experience is a plus.

Minimum of 3 years current and active experience required.

Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8-hour shift, in-person work.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Proficiency in medical insurance and ICD-10 coding
  • Experience with EMR for medical billing
  • Ability to use Avality, Navinet, Epaces, and similar medical insurance websites
  • Knowledge of CPT coding
  • Experience with accounts receivable and patient collections
  • Ability to read Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and understand billing remittances
  • Preferred experience: Cardiology, allergy, podiatry, endocrinology, internal medicine
  • Knowledge of pre-authorization processes for testing and procedures
  • Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work well in a team
  • Experience with Workers Compensation and Physical Therapy billing is a plus
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
