Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Clinical Assistant, utilizing skills as a CNA, Medical Assistant, or Orthopedic Technician to improve patient care. Lead the operations of coding, medical billing, workers compensation, medical records, and disability departments to maximize cash flow and enhance relationships with patients, physicians, and customers.
Key responsibilities include directing coding, billing, payment postings, accounts receivable, and reimbursement management; managing department personnel including hiring, training, and performance evaluation; collaborating with leadership to optimize operations and customer service; ensuring KPIs are met; educating staff and providers; overseeing revenue cycle projects; conducting compliance and internal audits; ensuring HIPAA, OSHA, and safety compliance; and attending management meetings for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Valid certification as CNA, Medical Assistant, Orthopedic Technician, or equivalent
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred (coding/billing, business administration or related field)
- Certified Professional Coder through AAPC preferred
- Minimum 7 years medical billing experience including 5 years in management
- EPIC system experience required
- Preferred experience in orthopedic and/or surgical practice
Skills and knowledge:
- Knowledge of billing, coding, compliance, medical terminology, and electronic health records
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to maintain high accuracy (93%)
