Minimum qualifications: High school graduation and a minimum of two years related office experience with billing and credentialing, or equivalent education and experience.
Required certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from AAPC, Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) from AHIMA, or CH-CBS. Combination of certification and experience considered.
Key responsibilities:
- Execute all billing and credentialing for AppWell clinic facilities.
- Prepare, review, and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement.
- Post all payments received via mail, ACH, or virtual; front desk posts in-person payments.
- Monitor claim status, follow up on unpaid claims, and appeal denied claims.
- Calculate patient responsibility, send statements, and respond to billing inquiries.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and legal/payer requirements.
- Provide front desk backup support as needed.
- Train and mentor student interns and assistants.
- Perform insurance provider enrollment and credentialing setup and maintenance.
- Update CAQH Provider Profiles.
- Ensure proper assignment of billing codes and stay current with billing codes and procedures.
- Balance end-of-day payments and track payments from various sources.
- Obtain prior authorizations for allied health provider services.
Preferred qualifications:
- Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and medical billing software.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Work schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, 40 hours per week, 11 months per year.
Salary: $30.67 per hour, pay commensurate with experience and qualifications.
