Responsibilities include accurately assigning ICD-10-CM codes to diagnoses, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and private payer regulations, identifying documentation improvement opportunities, and maintaining certification requirements through continuing education.
The position requires excellent verbal and written communication, customer service orientation, detail-oriented multitasking ability, teamwork skills, and intermediate computer proficiency (typing, 10-key, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) certification or obtaining CRC within 12 months if currently CPC certified.
This is a full-time, fully remote position with occasional travel (up to 10%) to various Trinity Health sites. Physical requirements include the ability to sit for long periods, handle some lifting up to 20 pounds, and adapt to changing work priorities in a potentially stressful virtual environment.
