We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. You will be responsible for timely submission of claims, follow-up on outstanding accounts, and optimizing revenue cycle management to improve patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities include preparing and submitting insurance claims electronically or via paper, following up on unpaid or denied claims, verifying patient insurance coverage and eligibility, maintaining detailed billing records within EMR/EHR systems, collaborating with medical office staff to resolve billing discrepancies, and staying updated on coding standards and healthcare regulations.
Required skills include strong knowledge of medical terminology, proficiency in ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, DRG classifications, experience with EMR/EHR systems, understanding of healthcare compliance standards, ability to interpret insurance policies, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
This role requires 2 years of medical billing experience. The position is in person in Kerrville, TX, and is part-time.
Hourly pay starts from $18.00.
- Minimum 2 years experience in medical billing
