We are a small, patient-centered medical office seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong medical billing knowledge and is comfortable working independently in a small office setting. Vision or ophthalmology billing experience is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities include submitting, reviewing, and following up on insurance claims; posting payments and adjustments accurately; managing accounts receivable and resolving claim denials; verifying insurance eligibility and benefits; communicating with insurance carriers regarding claim status and reimbursement; maintaining accurate billing and financial records; collaborating with office staff to ensure timely and accurate billing.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of medical billing experience
- Solid knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and modifiers
- Experience billing commercial insurance and/or Medicare
- Familiarity with EHR and practice management systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a small office environment
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- Vision, ophthalmology, or optometry billing experience
- Experience with Medicare billing and claim appeals
- Prior experience in a small or solo medical practice
- 2+ years of medical billing experience
