Responsibilities:

Review and verify medical records ensuring documentation aligns with billing requirements
Assign diagnosis codes using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems
Apply procedure codes such as CPT and DRG for billing
Prepare and submit claims using EMR/EHR systems ensuring payer compliance
Follow up on unpaid or rejected claims via medical collection efforts
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding updates, insurance policies, and billing regulations
Assist in managing medical records and documentation for audits and compliance

Experience:

Preferred experience with Tebra/Kareo billing system
Prior medical billing or coding experience in healthcare highly preferred
Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare documentation
Proficient with EMR/EHR systems and medical coding software
Knowledge of ICD-9/10, CPT, DRG coding, and medical collections
Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple claims accurately
Experience working with insurance companies or third-party billing is a plus
