Review and interpret medical records to accurately assign appropriate codes using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS.
Prepare and submit insurance claims electronically or via paper to various payers, ensuring compliance with all billing regulations.
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by contacting insurance companies and patients to resolve issues promptly.
Maintain detailed documentation of billing activities, including claim status updates, payment postings, and correspondence with payers.
Collaborate with medical office staff to verify patient information, insurance details, and ensure proper coding practices are followed.
Stay current with evolving medical coding standards, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations to ensure accurate billing procedures.
Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems efficiently to manage patient data and billing information.

Requirements:

Experience in medical billing with a strong understanding of medical coding practices including CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and HCPCS.
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards.
Familiarity with medical collection processes and effective strategies for resolving billing issues.
Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for billing and record-keeping purposes.
