Medical Billing Specialist

We are seeking a full-time medical billing specialist for our fast-paced Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry) practice.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, outstanding customer service skills, and a strong medical billing background, focusing on denials and working accounts receivable.

Job duties include daily verification of insurance coverage and eligibility, communicating with insurance companies regarding patient coverage, daily charge entry and payment posting, reviewing physician documentation to verify billing codes, insurance payment posting, obtaining prior authorizations for procedures, weekly review of denied claims and account receivables management, providing problem resolution to billing and follow-up issues, handling patient inquiries, and identifying and resolving patient billing problems. Knowledge in Auto & Workers Comp billing is beneficial.

Education/Experience required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2+ years of experience in Medical Billing
• Experience in A/R management and claim denial follow-up
• Proficient in CPT, ICD-10 codes
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient with technology
• Capable of multitasking and independent decision making
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Active listener, adaptable, coachable, curious, and engaging
