Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physical Therapy Medical Biller, where your expertise will be vital in ensuring accurate and efficient billing processes for our physical therapy clients. You will handle submission of claims, posting payments, managing denials and appeals, sending patient statements, assisting with insurance verifications and authorization, and other duties as requested. Your attention to detail and knowledge of physical therapy medical coding and billing systems will contribute directly to our financial health and patient care quality.
This position requires residence in RI, MA, or CT due to some in-person meetings and training.
Duties include reviewing claims for correct coding and modifiers for physical therapy services, preparing and submitting accurate insurance claims using EMR/EHR systems, following up on unpaid or denied claims, posting insurance and patient payments, staying informed on medical coding standards and healthcare regulations, and generating reports on billing activities and revenue cycle performance.
Applicants should have proven experience in medical billing within physical therapy or outpatient settings, strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy related to physical therapy, proficiency with EMR/EHR and medical office software, experience in medical collections and resolving denials, and excellent organizational skills for compliance and accuracy. Prior healthcare experience involving medical coding or insurance reimbursement is a plus.
