We are seeking an experienced medical biller to join our billing team at our office in Fullerton, Orange County or Koreatown, Los Angeles. Preferred location can be discussed during the interview. This position operates under the supervision of the medical billing manager and collaborates with billing staff to manage billing and collections of medical claims for clinic and surgical claims. The role includes communication with payers and patients regarding claims, obtaining authorizations, and supporting staff as a resource.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit claims to various payers including governmental agencies and insurance companies
- Identify and resolve coding errors and denials, resubmitting claims as necessary
- Research billing processes using critical thinking
- Analyze documentation and resolve billing issues in a timely manner
- Maintain confidentiality and perform tasks respectfully
- Perform payment posting, reconciliation, and review accounts for timely and accurate collection
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience as a medical biller
- Certification from a recognized medical billing or coding program
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, or related experience/other certifications
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, billing procedures, CPT and ICD-10 coding
- Experience with outpatient billing, particularly orthopedics
- Knowledge of Medicare, California Medi-Cal, and other medical insurance reimbursement principles
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
