Medical Biller

Guam Radiology Consultants

Responsible for assisting with patient and insurance billing inquiries. Responsible for submitting claims and entering cashier forms. Also, assists the Billing Supervisor with assigned projects.

Prepares and submits claims to various insurance companies either electronically or by paper.

Prepares and submits requests for pre-certifications and pre-authorizations.

Verifies CPT and ICD-10 codes for each procedure.

Answers questions from patients, clerical staff and insurance companies.

Identifies and resolves patient billing disputes.

Evaluates patient's financial status and establishes budget payment plans. Follows and reports status of delinquent accounts.

Reviews accounts for possible assignment and makes recommendations to the Billing Supervisor, also prepares information for the collection agency.

Performs various collection actions including contacting patients by phone, correcting and resubmitting claims to third party payers.

Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.

Assists with special projects as needed.

Must possess strong customer service skills, be proficient in use of PC and Windows OS, familiar with Medical Terminology, CPT & ICD-9 Coding, able to communicate in a professional manner. Should be able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously. Must possess basic typing skills to input various data into the Sequel system. Must be familiar with all equipment and processes needed to complete duties.

Work hours are Monday – Friday 7:00am – 6:00pm, Saturday 7:00am – 1:00pm. Emergency work hours occasionally needed.

Requires Basic Life Saving (BLS) Certification and Non-Disclosure & Non-Solicitation Agreement.

Non-Exempt Hourly Position, Full-Time Benefits.

Requirements & Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Preferred experience: 2 years customer service and 1 year medical billing experience.

Must be familiar with medical terminology, CPT & ICD-9 coding, and basic computer skills.
