Victory Hematology and Oncology is seeking a well-organized and knowledgeable Medical Billing Specialist to join their Hematology and Oncology practice. Responsibilities include managing insurance billing and payments processing, appeals and denials for Medicare, Medi-Cal, and commercial insurances, maintaining HIPAA and OSHA compliance, and ensuring timely and accurate claims submission. The role requires strong communication skills to liaise effectively with insurance companies, clinical staff, patients, and referring clients. The candidate will oversee billing processes such as charge entry, payment posting, and claim follow-up, and assist with clinical pre-authorizations.
Candidates must have a solid understanding of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding systems, medical terminology, and pharmacology. Additional duties include administrative tasks related to credentialing, training clinical staff on billing issues, and handling patient complaints per policy. Experience with Medicare, HMO, IPAs, and PPO carriers is essential.

This is a full-time position located in Sherman Oaks, CA. Candidates must be able to commute or relocate to Sherman Oaks prior to starting work.
- Excellent understanding of medical billing and coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
- Experience with insurance billing and payment processing, including EOBs
- Knowledge of appeals and denial processes for Medicare, Medi-Cal, and commercial insurance
- Strong communication skills for interacting with insurance companies, clinical staff, patients, and referring clients
- Ability to maintain HIPAA and OSHA compliance
- Experience with electronic billing and financial administration, including budgets, collections, payables, resubmissions, appeals, and payment posting
- Familiarity with medical terminology, pharmacology, and anatomy
